HOW TO CARE FOR SPRAY TAN
ACHIEVE THE BEST FROM YOUR SUNLESS TAN WITH BEFORE & AFTER CARE
24-48 HOURS PRIOR TO SESSION
-
Any other service appointments such as lashes, nails, or waxing should be done at least 24 hours before your tan.
-
Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Exfoliate. We cannot over-stress the importance of pre-session exfoliation. 24-hours prior to your appointment, clear away any dry, dead skin cells with a pH balancing scrub. For extreme areas use a deep exfoliator such as Intensive Detox Salt Scrub, no less that 24-hours prior to your session.
-
Protect your skins’ pH levels. Avoid using bar soaps, high pH shower products, or in shower moisturizers. These products can neutralize the DHA bronzing reaction within the skin.
-
Hair Removal. Any depilatory creams, waxing or shaving should be completed 24-hours prior to your session.
DAY OF SESSION
-
Don’t create sunless barriers. Avoid applying anything to the skin that may act as a barrier between the sunless solution and the skin. Deep penetration of the solution is key to beautiful lasting color. Do not apply lotions, creams, or perfumes prior to session. Use deodorant sparingly.
-
Remove any make-up prior to the sunless application.
-
Arrive Prepared. Wear loose fitting dark colored clothing and remove jewelry. Tight clothing can rub or smear bronzers, especially around the knees, elbows, chest and waist.
AFTER SESSION CARE
-
If you had a Premium Express Tan, rinse with as cool as water as possible 1-4 hours after your tan. This first rinse is a WATER ONLY RINSE, the use of soap will stop the development of your tan!
-
Rinse in 1 hour for light color, 2 hours for medium color, 3 hours for medium-dark color, 4 hours for dark color. When rinsing, use water only; no soap, use of washcloths, or loofahs. Rinse your bronzer off until your water runs clear.
-
Once your are fully rinsed, step out and pat yourself dry with a towel. Check yourself in the mirror, if you have any bronzer streaks running down you jump back in the shower and take your hand to buff the streak out. Pat yourself dry with towel again. 16-24 hours after your tan you can shower with soap and water.
-
Please be aware leaving your bronzer on longer than the recommended 4 hour time can cause overdevelopment, leading to incorrect color development on the skin (orange or green tints).
-
-
If you had a Classic Spray Tan, rinse with as cool as water as possible 8 hours after your tan. This first rinse is a WATER ONLY RINSE, the use of soap will stop the development of your tan! Pools and spas that utilize chlorine can cause fading, make sure to shower immediately after exiting pools and spas.
-
When showering after 24-hours, use only a mild pH balancing shower gel. Refrain from using scrubs or high pH soaps as these will strip away your sunless color.
-
Extend the life of your tan and help your fade by refraining from using wash clothes/loofahs during the life of your tan, patting dry, and applying lotions free of fragrances and harsh chemicals daily.
